About

I am a writer.  It’s taken me a long time to come to terms with what those four words mean for me.  I have struggled through other careers and explored other avenues.  I’ve walked where the path has led, but no matter its twists and turns, it always comes back to those four words.

On my home page, I’ve quoted Hermann Hesse in his profound coming of age novel, Demian: “I wanted only to try to live in accord with the promptings which came from my true self.  Why was that so very difficult?”  I still don’t have an answer for that question, but I sense I’m getting closer.

I live in a small village outside London with my much beloved husband and son.  I am a graduate of Cornell University.  I considered teaching (I still do).  I briefly worked in the financial industry in institutional sales, then moved to communications and public relations in Connecticut and New York City.  I recently worked as a sports agent.  Through most of that time, I have been writing,  but I didn’t really know what I was doing.

The last three years have taught me more than I  imagined possible about dreams, passion, work and persistence.  I feel ready, at last, to be my true self.  I am at work on a novel, The Book and The Shadow.
